Privacy & Data Protection
Every athlete deserves control over their sporting identity and personal information.
NextGoal does not share athlete information with governments, organizations, or third parties without appropriate permissions, consent, and applicable legal requirements.
Data Ownership
- Athlete profiles belong to the athlete and, for minors, their parent or guardian.
- Organizations contribute information — school records, competition results, assessments — but do not own athlete profiles.
- Schools, academies, and clubs enrich an athlete's journey; ownership always remains with the athlete and their guardians.
Consent Management
- We record consent for terms, privacy, marketing, data sharing, government integration, and public profile visibility.
- Consent can be granted or revoked at any time through the Privacy Center.
- Guardians provide separate consent for minor athletes before organization linking or profile sharing.
Child Data Protection
- Minor athletes receive enhanced protections by default.
- Guardians approve organization linking, profile transfers, and public visibility changes.
- Public visibility can be disabled entirely for minors.
Information Sharing
- We do not sell personal information.
- NextGoal does not share athlete information with governments, organizations, or third parties without appropriate permissions, consent, and applicable legal requirements.
- Data may only be shared when explicitly approved by the athlete or guardian, required by applicable laws, or required to provide requested platform services.
Government Data Requests
- Government identifiers — APAAR, PEN, Aadhaar, State IDs — are entirely optional.
- No government data is mandatory for platform participation.
- No government data is shared automatically.
- Future government integrations require explicit, recorded consent.
- Sensitive identifiers are hashed; full values are never stored or exposed.
Security
- Sensitive identifiers are encrypted and hashed using industry-standard methods.
- Government IDs are never displayed in full — only verification status is shown.
- Role-based access control limits who can view athlete data.
- All privacy changes, consent events, and profile access are logged in audit trails.
Privacy Controls
- Athletes and guardians control visibility for public profile, schools, academies, scouts, organizations, videos, and achievements.
- Visibility levels include Public, Private, Schools Only, Academies Only, Scouts Only, and Organizations Only.
- Share links with expiry can be created for temporary access to private profiles.
Account Deletion
- Users can deactivate their account at any time.
- Data export requests provide a portable copy of your information.
- Profile deletion requests are processed in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
Data Portability
- Athletes can request a full export of their profile data at any time.
- Exports include profile information, achievements, and linked metadata in a portable format.
- Export requests are logged and tracked for transparency.
